BTS has this morning announced the launch of the new joint BTS/NIHR Clinical Research Network Awards.
These awards will recognise outstanding contributions in the Respiratory Clinical Research Communities. According to the Society, the new Clinical Research Awards will help showcase respiratory research skills, processes and outputs.
More information on how to apply for the awards can be found on the BTS website.
Professor James Chalmers, Chair of the BTS Science and Research Committee commented:
“The British Thoracic Society is delighted to be partnering with the NIHR to recognize our outstanding respiratory research community with these annual awards. The UK has a track record of outstanding respiratory research but the COVID19 pandemic has brought this to national attention as never before, with our research teams leading on recruitment to key national initiatives such as the RECOVERY trial and many other national COVID studies.
"There is much to be proud of and much to celebrate. These national awards will give us the opportunity to recognise the “unsung heroes” of UK respiratory research. The flagship BTS Winter Meeting is the ideal venue to celebrate our vibrant research community and we look forward to presenting the first award this November.”
